What's in a name?

Bryce Aaron Calvin
It has taken sometime and lots of thought but our new son finally has a middle name. Although we had originally chosen Robert after my amazing Uncle, it seems that the Lord may have had different plans. When I lost my best friend in April I began to think of away to honor her for what was an incredible friendship and presents in my life. Our other Friend Tyffany suggested Davis which I felt was fitting and proposed it to Chris who was not so much in agreement. "Erika was a Coffey, that was her last name and she held it proud." Chris reminded me and upon that reaction we went from Erik to EJ to forget it he just won't have a middle name. It was after some prayer and thought that I began to feel like he needed his own middle name but that it needed to reflect our time in life and that is when we came across Aaron. It means Shining Light and that is our prayer for Bryce that he would be a shining light but also a tribute to the one who was a shining light for her lifetime. So there we have it Bryce Aaron Calvin.....we'll see you soon.:)

It is hard to believe that we only have 11 days until Bryce's scheduled arrival. Judah has been enjoying the great weather and the addition of a slide to our backyard thanks to some friends from church. Chris has been working hard to finish our bathroom that must be ready by June 3rd for guests. I have been crazy busy getting VBS, summer camp, and church for my brief absence. All in all we are so thankful for the time we have had as a family. We are continuing to trust in the Lord for a job for Chris.
Judah loved flying off the slide and catching himself at the bottom.
Judah's favorite treat, frozen gogurt.
37 weeks pregnant.

Comfort in sad times

As most of you are aware my best friend Erika Coffey went to be with the Lord due to a terrible auto accident on the night of April 24th. Chris and I recieved a call from her husband Rob at 2am and packed our bags and hit the road ASAP. We were able to be there for a full week to help Rob with arrangements as well as have to say good bye in our own way. While we were there Erika and Rob's oldest Andrew and Judah played each day and although by day two these two are usually ready for a break from one another, this time was much different as if Judah somehow knew Andrew needed a friend. At one point Andrew made the statement that Judah was his best friend and although I know at almost three everyone is your best friend, I hope that one day these two may share a friendship as Erika and I did. The support from those around Rob was overwhelming. There was even an arrangement sent by the Blue Angels in Erika's memory. As if they knew they drove her nuts every tuesday morning from 8am till 1pm. :) it was just amazing to see the love that was shown to this family in their time of need.
